Cracked Heels
Cracked skin around the heels is very common in women due to the type of shoes they wear - mainly open backed shoes or sandals.
The skin is dry and will have a ridge of callus around the edge of the heel
The skin is constantly being squeezed and stretched when walking and it can only be relieved by intensive moisturising. It may become worse if the cracks become deeper where it may become infected.
It may be necessary to have podiatry treatment to remove the hard skin and then the heels should be applied with either CCS or flexitol cream
